I’m intrigued by the utterly despairing and dystopian landscape that has decay crawling all through it literally and probably metaphorically but I’m 156pgs in and it’s dragging slower than the tendrils of sludge and fungus crawling throughout the city. The front cover claims “unhinged literary horror” but I guess I’d just like to see more of the unhinged part. I’ve dnfed it multiple times

Honestly just really liked how breezy and beautifully it was written, the dialogue and the writing style are almost calming to the mind. It wasn’t terribly interesting to read about a fictional girl that inspired a real artist but it was a unique piece in itself that captured an earlier time of living in a way I enjoyed.

Not getting into it as much as the 1st book sadly but I have a feeling it’s going to pick up soon and I won’t be able to put it down halfway through. Mostly here for the multiple love stories that are developing and intertwining in the midst of chaos, war and politics happening not going to lie.

A very good psychoanalysis on today’s food and culture of eating and where it came from, I just wish each section was a tad shorter. I don’t want to read about corn broken down to the molecule for 100 pages then again it is interesting how much it is in and has dominated everything in this country. Will keep reading but I needed a break after reading part one. Definitely an easy book to annotate though.

Having a hard time finishing, dnf because it was dull and not going anywhere but might return to so I can give it a fair chance. It’s just not living up to its potential.
