I’ve never heard of this Aquarium and it sounds good so far but I looks the fun facts more; the one about the stargazer fish that attacks its prey by burying itself in the sand and using its two rats to shock its prey .

so in the last chapter (and many before it) a man pushing his own addenda and “good deeds” gets a creature in a vulnerable state and takes advantage of their kindness. not all merpeople are friendly but to get the merrow drunk on purpose ??? after he was kind to you is insane.. to free the souls as if he didn’t tell you they get cold and lost in the sea.. and you set them free into the SEA… men are ignorant.

as mythical as these creatures are there is a great bit of folklore from different places across the world, and lore on popular to semi popular phrases we all grew up hearing and some very interesting takes on seals and what they might actually be .

helping with my obsession to the ocean and ofc mermaids!!! I’ve always had a fascination with them and I sorta triggered a memory earlier today ! so what better way to continue it; then with a book on the vast and unworldly creature .

now.. Corvin holds a very special place in heart but I tend to love the damaged silent types.. Sonny is really starting to irritate me. he confuses himself and everyone around him simply because he’s too afraid to voice or act on how he feels unless it’s purely domination or sexual. I love Felix ! but there’s something I can’t quit put my finger on.. I love the twins I cannot lie (yes I love Sonny to.)

Of course some of her points contradict themselves, we are not in the same timeline as hook, we aren’t in 2003-2004 when this book was first published or the years before that while she was writing and researching. I think we’ve made good progress as a society and some things discussed in the book are already having their turning points. I think people try to hard to be critics without look first in themselves.

I’ve seen some of the reviews for this book and I can see where some people are coming from, but this a book released in the early 2000s written by someone born in the mid 50s. The way and which she views patriarchy and men in general is completely different from how someone born in the 2000s does. bell does a good job with the limited resources she had, and I think people are being a bit difficult with this book
