He’s already quite possible my least favourite character from a book ever. He’s so slovenly and lazy, he just reminds me of what I could be at my worst. His serial procrastination frustrates me so much I want to throw this book out the window. When I get out the car I’m going to check my emails.

This may be the first book I recommend to read abridged… I love parts of it but there are long spaces which just drag on too much. It’s a shame as the main story is really captivating. Still enjoying it though

Quite possibly the most disturbing book I’ve ever read

The writing is quite literary and it reads almost like a novel. The contents are really disturbing…

Straight heat right up until I was hit with at least 50 pages of the Battle of Waterloo… Intensely boring. I’m not surprised the pacing is bad - but it was just so hard to get through that section. I can’t wait to actually get back to the characters now that it’s done.

I love the creativity

57 pages to get to Jean Valjean, not bad for an old book. I assumed it would be more 🤷‍♀️ Just finished book 3, 112 pages to get to Fantine and book 6 is titled Javert at page 184 so I’m assuming I’ll start to finish the introduction phase shortly… It’s been engrossing so far! I can’t wait to see where it goes (I’m guessing it will inch it’s way towards misery… shocker)
