Faith in Christ does not remove all of the causes of discouragement; rather, it enables us to overcome them. We may experience discouragement; but we will not be defeated by it.

he knows you better than you know yourself. He knows your past and your future. He knows you in depth too: your secrets, your ambitions, your fears. He knows you better than you know yourself

We still must face death, as the last enemy. When we think about that we may tremble. But then we remember: Christ has conquered death; it may touch us, but it cannot hold on to us. Even though we walk through death's haunted valley we will fear no evil, for Christ is with us.

the Lord will be with you then, and you will be assured that he will never leave you or forsake you.

“He who walks in darkness and has no light, let him trust in the name of the Lord and count on his God”

Store up God's Word, like a squirrel storing up nuts for the winter; for the winter of life will surely come when you will need God's promises to act as an anchor to your soul.

but that it is God's way. And because it is his way, it works.
