Wasn't expecting Tommy to be so spineless. Poor Ying ;-;

really enjoying the setting

Kicking off spooky season

Haven't had such a good time reading a rom-com in quite a while

Olive is a very Sophie Kinsella-esque heroine, in the way that she does mortifying things but isn't infuriatingly annoying and obtuse. But I wish they showed more of Adam being an actual a-hole instead of everyone around him parroting that he is, all the time. Show! Don't tell! Because right now, he just seems like a quiet guy who expects people to put in actual effort into the work they chose to do.

Lillian and Kate Sharma would have been best friends.

Starting off fall with something fuzzy (and spicy ofc)

Took a break between books 2 and 3, and now I've lost my momentum

"Yes Nezha had been hurt, but hadn't they all been hurt? She'd been through Golyn Niis. She'd been tortured on a lab table. She'd watched Altan die."

Only Rin can make other peoples deaths all about herself. Am I expected to care about an MC who treats peoples assault like this?

I really wish Rin would stop antagonizing anyone who tries to help her. This is getting tiring.

Rin, why are you asking others what happened to the Gatekeeper?? Wasn’t his identity literally spelled out to you at the Chuluu Korikh?

"..for someone of your pedigree, you're incredibly stupid. Speerly abilities, Sinegard education, Militia service, and you still don't understand how the world works." If this ain't the way I feel about Rin! I wish she'd actually stop blindly walking into stuff without a second thought!

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve

Love how the first two stories critiqued the hypocrisy of brown Muslim men
