I feel like there are a lot of implicit revelations in this and I'm missing all of them

It's like there's a massive dramatic gasping moment but they never actually spell it out and I just miss the twist

It makes the plot quite hard to follow because there's a lot of inference involved

Ok this is good now. Imogen is healed, everyone knows everything, and the plot is picking up

But I'm sorry WHAT the sea monster is her insides???? Did not expect that. It does make sense tho it's a great concept and it was woven through the book so well
