borrowed from matt. i’m sure this book was mentioned in a gender studies course once but i forgot about it until he tossed it at me and said how his friend had wrote this and it’s a great read. and it absolutely is. really in love with wall’s style, how flowy and stream of consciousness it feels.

last update was done at the old store. got another couple of chapters in while waiting for the pharmacy to open (should’ve checked hours before i set out on my bike travels). anyways, this just keeps getting better. i’m rooting for stephanie and mia so hard even though i already know everything works out for them. “do you want a happy meal?” just made me cry. i can cry so easily at this heartwarming shit

amazing so far. heavily relating to stephanie on imagining what clients’ routines are and how they live in their houses. exactly what i did everytime i cleaned the airbnb, looking at the trash and the state of the bedrooms and the books taken off the shelves to try to make up a story about what the guests did during their stay. incredible storytelling here

scary how extreme warren jeffs’ corrections got as he spent more time in prison. can’t imagine how mentally exhausting it would be to constantly be following the rules as he made new ones again and again. the pace is good i guess? it’s hard to judge with a biography but i like that some events are described in more detail, especially the fonder memories

can’t put this down. it’s heartbreaking to get all the “normal” bits amongst the horrifying things rachel and her family lived with. like the progression of her relationship with rich after they were married is nice in a way, but putting it all in the context of their lives is so sad.

jesus christ. bottom line: warren jeffs needs to burn in hell. what a wicked and evil man.

second chapter about air. holy frig. we’re all so connected

back to it. good start. felt fitting to read while i’m out here next to the big ocean and big mountains, feeling small in the best way. the intro and first chapters pretty much summarize how i feel about this world and our place in it, as animals just like any other around us, all interconnected. and we’re so out of touch with that. down with consumerism!

still getting better with every chapter, but it’s so difficult to remember who’s who in these stories! so many people i can’t keep up with

forgot to update when i actually read a chunk like 2 months ago.. but good so far! only having a bit of trouble keeping track of who’s who, it’s kind of difficult when there’s not many photos and the plane had no wifi for me to get on the googler. on to part 2!
