I'm going to be honest, I'm not enjoying this book. But there are moments within it that resonate strongly with me, and this particular quote is one of them.

"The woods were silent in their grief."

"It's only now that I realize how big the difference is between having one friend and having zero friends."

"'She brought more light into this world than you will ever know and it kills me that you will never get to see that.'
Tears spill from my eyes. 'Dad, I'm sorry.'
'She loved you so much Lu, and she would be so disappointed in you today.'"

I don’t know why but I relate to this so much.

“‘Are you sure you don’t mind hanging out with me like this?’
‘What do you mean when you’re like this? This is exactly when you’re supposed to hang out with friends.’”

It's cool in the audiobook version has a filter to make the phone calls sound more realistic

This book is ridiculous. Right now I'm aiming at 1/5 stars, and the only reason I'm still reading is because the main characters favorite movie is Shawshank Redemption.

My eyes are rolling so hard that they might just fall out of my head. At this point I'm just counting the seconds until the resolution just so I can know how it ends.

God if she thinks “why does he have such an effect on me, I don’t even like him” one more time I’m going to DNF.

God I hate how insecure the main character is.

So far I’m liking the plot more than the style or characters. This is one of the only thrillers I’ve read and of course I’m reading it at four in the morning.

This book is hitting me so much harder than I thought it would. As soon as it happens and you know she’s taking a test you know what the result is going to be, but knowing it and reading it is two different things.

Wow chapter 33 is amazing.

"How many lives have you ended? Do you know the number?"

"Death comes for us all, I will simply have mine mean something."

I'm loving following her on the ship and hearing about the magic in this universe
