Thoroughly immersive. Love a character-based novel, and Dickens does this one really well. Prose is descriptive and necessary; doesn’t drag (to my surprise). I particularly like the use of an evolving narration. It was impressive to hear the narrative voice go from infantile and innocent initially to more mature and sober as I progress. Quite unique!
