Rollo just said the most Lana coded thing, I'm surprised this book doesn't get recommended much

her prose is like a drug

the opening line was like the music video for high by the beach and violet just described the new girl putting a blue hydrangea inside her backpack. i love it here

it feels like the writing keeps telling instead of showing and many sentences are unnecessarily long; something i know is almost a requirement for the pretentious dark academia vibe. i even considered dnfing it but i'm staying for the plot. i just wish lorelei wasn't giving manic pixie dream girl vibes

Tom is sweet but boring, Christian has some internalised misogyny and so does BJ. I think Magnolia needs some time alone atp.

i don't really care that much about anyone but i really wish bj would die. he keeps saying he hates seeing magnolia sad and then sleeps with someone to make her sad. make it make sense!!! he should be grateful he's allowed near her at all. and as for magnolia...what's the point of dating random men if you're going to show everyone that you're still in love with bj by making a scene when he hooks up with someone??
