The first chapter of this book was super fun and for me. The vibes immediately changed in the second chapter when she started skipping around to different POVs. Not loving that the first chapter was not indicative of how the book was written. I also think we're supposed to like Kayla, but I just don't. I don't hate the book by any means, but it wasn't what I was expecting.

I really like the sass of this book so far. I hope it doesn't do what my last book did and lose that right away. I'm still stuck on reading Christmas stories because I just need some comfort right now.

This book is a hoot!

Love the book so far. I realized today that all the listings I can find for this book say the book has 296 pages. The one I'm reading only has 239, but the print is abnormally small. As someone who prints a lot, I think it's a size 8 font. I got this new at a library book sale so I'm wondering if it's a galley copy and the other books are longer because the print is a normal size?

This is the kind of predictable I like in my easy read Christmas stories, but Hallmark, we have to talk. This is the smallest font I've ever seen in a book. I just turned 40 and I'm struggling over here. Is this an 8 font?

I really like this book. I've read Debbie before and never noticed something that has been prevalent in the last few books I've read. She tries to tilt pushy behavior in men as romantic. Example:

"She's a challenge, that's for sure. I doubt she'd ever consider dating me, but I won't let that stop me."

The other male character then cheers him on. Not okay, Debbie.

I'm really loving this book. I'm not sure, however, why Debbie has a habit of writing men who are told no by a woman and become determined they're going to change their mind like it's cute.

Now this is what I've come to expect from a Debbie Macomber Christmas novel!

I've read books by Debbie Macomber before and loved the warm, friendly feeling they gave you. This book is different from what I've become accustomed to with her. There's no detail and though I feel like I'm flying through the book, it also doesn't seem like it's going anywhere. I don't hate it. It just wasn't what I expected.

I think this story is going to be very formulaic, but the concept is unique. I would not be keen to fly around interviewing people about fruitcake, so I do not blame our protagonist.

So far no one has gone missing. I really love the story, but I can't believe I'm 96 pages in. Not much has happened. This story is very slice of life, but I'm here for it.

I am a huge fan of Mary Kay Andrews and absolutely adored her Christmas story, The Santa Suit. I am, however, a little worried about this book. The last two books I read by her have had a crime element to them and it hasn't been done very well. I'm hoping this one is better and miss her cute books with no crime element.

I usually love Mary Kay's books, but this one has gotten a bit ridiculous. There's a few things that have happened in the last 100 pages that don't make any sense for the seriousness of the situation. I'm hoping things wrap up a lot neater.
