I've heard a lot of mixed things about Colleen's books, so I was interested to give one a try, especially with the movie for this book set to land this fall. I don't hate it. I'm interested to see where it goes. Colleen's writing style is definitely different, but so far, so good.

This is amazingly funny and well written. I am super into this right now.

It is very slow going with this book. I think I'm still mad about the last Debbie Macomber book I read. I'm trying to read through these books so I can pass them on to my aunt, but I may need to switch to another author as a palate cleanser.

Both the book jacket and the online description call the main character Hope Godwin. The actual book texts calls her Hope Goodwin. We are not off to a fabulous start. That's too big of an error for a major author and publisher.

I am really enjoying this book and how it weaves the tales of the animals, the lessons the teach us, and the author's life.

This book is taking me an embarrassingly long time to read. I really like the story and would love to see it play out, but the author's writing just isn't for me. It's very repetitive and feels like a meeting that could have been an email.

I have a policy about never DNFing book, because it can often surprise you. This may be the first. The amount of repetition is making this a tedious read. The author repeats information we already know at least twice on each page and the way that information is presented to us seems forced and unnatural. Love the plot, so I'm hoping to get through it.

I was set to read this book over Christmas, but found out that very little of it actually has to do with Christmas. I'm glad I waited.

I hate that it's taking me this long to read a book. This is very unusual for me.

The first chapter of this book was super fun and for me. The vibes immediately changed in the second chapter when she started skipping around to different POVs. Not loving that the first chapter was not indicative of how the book was written. I also think we're supposed to like Kayla, but I just don't. I don't hate the book by any means, but it wasn't what I was expecting.
