If I had a nickel for every time I read and loved a scifi book where the main character voluntarily undergoes unsafe neurosurgery involving the integration of another mind into her own, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t much but it’s weird that it happened twice

This is a reread after THAT last book but I forgot how much I love space operas and how much I love Mahit Dzmare slowly realizing her predecessor really did sleep with the most powerful people on that damn planet

About 100 pages from the end of the book and yknow for a story that advertised itself as a heist and quickly jumped into the prep for said heist, the fact that we’ve spent 100 pages on this sidequest that’s still ongoing and are nowhere near the heist is…concerning. Like I appreciate the character development (somewhat) and mystery building but it Gets To A Point

So far it’s Just Alright but I’m intrigued enough to keep going

Genuinely did not expect to get so caught up in this book but now I’m like two chapters away trying to savor it. RF Kuang coming out w another banger

I’m like 40% sure I know the twist here but god what a buildup

Was having a decent time w this book but as soon as Maria killed redacted I knew I was in for a Fuckin Time! And so far not at all disappointed

This book has so many incredible lines and I keep texting my friend them like thank you for reccing this

1) Mina is so kind and has so much love for Lucy and Jonathan it just warms my heart

2) Van Helsing knowing exactly that there’s a vampire around but being so cryptic is so fucking funny like he’s just like “oh we ain’t done with her yet” at Lucy’s death. what the hell
