The WIFE what the actual fuck

I’m…. Scared that I’m coming dangerously close to knowing the ending. I’m literally paying I’m wrong considering I actually like the book and writing so I need it to not be predictable. Colm and Aideens story actually devastated me. WHY do Colm like that??? Absolutely devastated by his grief and his inability o live without his wife.

Okay, quick predictions log. Connor is the adoptive son and I think he is the son of Cathy Jones. The killer is either Connor or Father Walsh. It could also be Niall but I don’t really think so. Options three, it’s a set up and it’s none of them. Also Mr Alex here has made a lot of comments about being an imposter, an island of one, a person who can never really belong, compaired to a chameleon. He could be it.

👀 so far I’m making a few…assumptions. I think our little Gregory (Alex) is treating the serial killers mother. I also think Alex may have a serious history, his internal monologue is interesting to say the least, especially calling himself the impostor. I like the action packed chapters and the fact that they short asf.

Kinda good kinda slow. A lot of true crime investigation vibes going on right now which I always am a fan of. It’s interesting the way Hazles own personal negative experiences seem to slip in. Sometimes they feel relevant to the understandung of her and how it relates to the story. Other times it feels irrelevant or oddly out of place.

l rarely read a romance novel. Find them a little boring, and frankly I've enough experience with terrible relationships and heart break I do not need to read about it to feel something. However, this writer hooked me on the first page standing between isle at the store So here I am reading a romance. Only in chapter 1 but I don't hate it. Hopefully the whole romance is dead thing doesn’t get too woe is me.

Okay, the narrator is officially annoying me. Information is too long or descriptive or inclusive of details that are not needed but play into the fucked up ness going on. Idk about Tric and him being in love with Mia already. 2 weeks is awhile when it’s day in and day out (literally) but still isn’t he supposed to be a brutal assassin? Mia’s fear being eaten by Mr kindly is cool I want more of her emotions fs

Mmmmmm this book. So far I’m liking the main character Mia. Her back story of her fierce and merciless mother making her watch the hanging of her father. Never flinch never…. I’m enjoying the genuine ruthlessness that comes with morally grey character motivated by vengeance and rage. I don’t know about the narrator yet but so far I don’t mind the cometic quips and information provided.

Okay, so I was right about the coroner. I’m also even more convinced it’s the head school guy. Also why is Simon always getting accused? He has to have murder like painted across his forehead. Also, can u guys just say I love you already? Coroner bitch needs to chill on her whole “u need to chose” shit bc she’s not Derik Shepard, she’s sticking to her number one Simon.

So far yes yes yes. Guess the coroner chick is actually helping them and the guy in charge of the school is the one communing the murders.👀 also the corner chick and the detective brother were in love and she’s always so moody bc she’s jealous that she gets to have the love she wasn’t allowed to have.

Sooo I’m taking a break. The whole rape in the airplane bathroom was too much for me. From the his perspective? No. I’ll come back eventually, I know this is a good book. I can usually handle all the fucked up shit but that was a no.

So far I love hate this book. All the stories are amazing but I want my main characters to go back to being in love. Obviously they are still close Sometimes it’s cute, falling in love all over. Sometimes I think he just enjoys being in pain and pining after her. Idk I don’t love it. I also thought the whole re charging in the pool, sauna, grass thing was giving cliche. They have a unique magic world so why that?

I always struggle in the beginning of a horror novel. The writing is so beautifully descriptive and captivating but this one bounces around a bit. I know it will matter later, it always does; but I just can’t help but feel a little… bored? I’m not sure that’s even the right word I’m looking for but I’m ready to be swallowed whole by this book and it’s just not happening for me right now.

WHAT I’m genuinely flabbergasted. Fucking Lambert! I thought for sure it was Remi and when she finally had the same conclusion I was like FUCKING FINALLY. LAMBERT! It’s 3 AM N SHE JUST JUMPED OFF THE EDGE WITH HIM. I can’t stop reading at this point turns out me AND Catrín were wrong😬

Lord this book jumps right into the murda of it all. I’m obsessed! Seeing everything from Cartins point of view gives it more of a thrill because we learn as she does. The confusing display of magic was as “wtf” for me as it was for Catrín, which I think is brilliant writing. I have moments where I’m like Catein, girl, you can’t be that blind… But we’ll see, I feel I’m being mislead on purpose.

Very early in but I’m a little confused. So far it feels like the story line is being rushed, like why does Red go with the wolf into the woods literally the same day she arrives. Why do the other characters seem to think she should know everything and how to fend off the shadows on day two? The first few chapters were brilliant but once red enters the Wilderwood it feels like the world building is rushed.

Slightly confusing in the beginning with all the information being thrown at me, I feel like some of the information could’ve come along with time and you meet the new characters instead of all the inner babbling that goes on. However I really like the crime solving aspect amongst the other chaos that goes on, so far so good!
