Super cute. Plots good and strong. The main characters are good. But this still held my attention and was fun and cute. The main character was charming and witty, not annoying.

Definitely feeling like farrendel is a very shallow character as in he lacks depth. I had hope that he’d be more deeply flushed out in the second book, but not the outcome so far. Eddie babies him and he seems too little boyish.

Still loving this book. I just wish that the author would show more and tell less. There is a scene where farrendel is a bit embarrassed and his ears turn red and then Eddie explains that he is embarrassed. We don’t need to be told everything. Also, Farrendel is somewhat portrayed like a child or puppy but one that is really strong. As in it comes off like he’s not emotionally/mentally strong.

Not bad so far. The dialogue of the narrator is funny and interesting. The dialogue between the characters? Sometimes they switch between old English and more modern English and that takes me out of the story a bit. Not a big fan of mentioning other princesses and fairytales as often as this book does - these moments are supposed to be funny (I think) but feel a bit childish? Too much comedy? Too many references?
