It's weird reading this book with everything going on irl. The main villains of the story hate this mob boss who's killing people who squeal, get in his way, and ect., ect. filler, filler, so to get back at him, they try killing him, killing other people in the process. However, Dresden is telling them if they do that, they're no better than him, especially if they kill innocence in the process. It's never ending!

Reading this because library book and I enjoyed the first one forever ago!

Anyway, Harry Dresden is a wizard living in the modern world trying to make a living as a detective/paranormal investigator! Key word: trying.

This whole book has been lore dump, couple arguing, same couple having angry sex, and then more couple arguing, and then more lore dump. I see what the author is doing and have a feeling this all building up to a huge dramatic reveal... But GOD show a fucking battle for more than five minutes!! Also, your dragon wife keeps a huge secret from you for years about her rider, seems like a bold decision on her part!

I'm honestly rooting for the American Fae researcher over rich Irish man, rich Irish man is giving me bad vibes man, bad vibes!

Also, flirting with the guy after talking about his dead wife is certainly a choice to make. Talk about an ice breaker!
