oh my... this was intense. i knew clover was gonna betray stour at some point, just didnt think he'd do it now and do it SO WELL. his little speech? shivers' poking? that was all AMAZING AND THE NORTH AT ITS ESSENCE (which i thoroughly enjoyed). not being dramatic but i would die for orso, he's a hell of a character. I CANT HAVE LEO DYING, tho i feel bad for his loss of leg. i honestly dont feel sympathy for savine.

oh. rip antaup and jin, im glad jurand was safe in that aspect at least. i was rooting for orso all along, for his political success and improvised plans, and im very happy the lamb did eat the lion in the end (im suprised jappo didnt get involved), but i really dont want leo to die. this whole coup was wrong, but he has a good heart. i wonder what stour will think of carleon once he turns, with tricky rikke and all

god orso is me and as much as i hate myself as fiercely as he does, he will forever be a character i'll defend at all costs. his dinner with leo showed me that theyre opposites, the warrior and the politician, each with interests of their own. i have no idea how leo didnt bloody snap out of it and notice he's surrounded by snakes, savine being the biggest among them (wheres jurand to give him sense?) pike being nice!

clover is so damn quotable, not to mention he is quite literally my animal spirit in most situations (headaches, a lot of humming, no promises...) stour and leo will never get along man, theyre both too full of pride to manage a healthy alliance (and if they lose it will all be worse lmao). goddd leo needs his jurand, even savine noticed! imagine if she gave birth during battle? vick is awesome, shes talented as fuck

LOCKE CANT BE THE UNSUB SHES LIKE THE ONE CHARACTER I ACTUALLY LIKE WHAT THE FUCK. also, michael cant fucking die, as much as i find him to be a bit annoying from time to time and actually prefer cassie with dean over him. theyre both in a competition to know who has more trauma accumulated tho... actually, all of the naturals seem to be doing that. the investigation aspect of this book is pretty good not gonna lie

the characters still kinda suck (even if i really like the adults and LIA MY GIRL), but they have decent enough personalities and pasts when theyre alone. cassie should 100% get with dean (even if I find any romance she might have with anyone a bit stupid all in all), theyre trauma bonding or whatever tf they call that. i have so many questions.. why is the unsub obsessed with cassie's mother? who is he?

these characters are all so annoying wtf (apart from the adults tbh, as in judd, briggs and locke), they're all the definition of stereotypes and their dynamic kinda sucks 'cause wdym both dean and michael are already deeply in love with cassie when she's been around for a month (and lia is right there, yk?$

none of the characters — other than briggs and judd — seem too compelling to me. they all follow very obvious stereotypes and that "weird" standard we usually see in those portrayed as super smart or possessing a special ability, which is the case of our naturals here. the plot, 'till now, is investing enough, and i'm genuinely curious to know who the "you" chapters told by!

shit, bayaz is staring wayy too much at savine for it to be healthy. he has plans, and for whatever reason i fear they involve ovethrowing glokta, in spite of everything. THE DOGMAN CANT DIE, RIKKE CANT HAVE SEEN HIM IF HE DIES I DIE TOO! Vick seems prone to switching sides.. fair enough, i say. orso and leo couldnt be more different (and i love them, and their parallels). whats up with savine basically SA'ing leo?

BAYAZ FINALLY ARRIVED, HOW MUCH I MISSED THAT OLD FUCKER! okay no the long eye rikke has is 100% connect to the other side somehow, just by the way bayaz n sulfur reacted to her was enough to tell me so. glokta is here to truly put leo to his place, eh? he can be so "nice" from time to time, such as sharing parts of his thoughts with vick. god, i feel terrible for orso, he really didnt deserve that abrupt rejection.

fuck, in a single reading session we had orso asking savine to marry him and ardee telling savine theyre half-siblings. i felt genuinely bad 'cause orso and savine ARE GOOD FOR EACHOTHER. now, i wonder where rikke's sudden rage spurts come from. perhaps the long eye is somehow connected to the other side? LEO WON THE DUEL! (and tried befriending stour. idk if thats real smart or stupid). the dogman CANT FUCKING DIE

men are so fucking stupid at times. A DUEL IN THE CIRCLE? how long will it take for both stour and leo realize they aint made of death like logen was and they wont conquer glory through fighting in the circle! i do hope rikke's long eye is right and leo does win cause he may be stupid but i love him. fin deserved better. orso is good with his words, but no doubt vick gave him a hell of a help. shivers is amazing.

finally, both fin and dogman snapping some sense into leo, hurting his pride and making him realize he aint nothing without his mother. still love him, even if he is the gayest yet most homophobic man i know. jurand is so in love with him, i have no idea how rikke hasnt noticed yet. WHO THE FUCK IS THE WEAVER? savine is so selfish, yet shes an AMAZING character. broad has to listen to his wife, the burners are vile!

i shouldnt feel bad for savine but i do, and im not even sure why cause she didnt feel bad enough to advocate properly for those overworked and abused children... anyway, she was extremely lucky to have found broad and his family. shes somewhat safe with them. bet orso will be glad he'll get the chance to try and act as her hero for once. also, the breakers are reasonable (yippe!), but the burners are just vile!!!!

im yet to decide if leo is very gay or bisexual. one thing i know, tho, is that his scene with rikke was way too hot (in the best sense possible). jurand is definitely in love with him as well! i hope he's the lion rikke's prophecy speaks of, not orso, who now. has the funds needed for his campaign. bless our dear savine, in love with her half-brother. broad is gonna be part of the breakers, finally!
