I heard a collision almost occur near the spot Nicholas’s father was killed as I logged this.

I was telling the boyfriend last night, she writes extremely similar to how I imagine I would write if I were an author, and I cannot tell if I'm enthralled or disgusted by this. The last paragraph I read was so embodying that it made me feel a bit sick. Girlhood really is universal, no matter what way you slice it.

Honesty and realism flanks every sentence. I’m trying to not let it turn me off… I’m trying to look for the elegance in it. Either way, I do feel seen, as per usual.

This is exactly what I needed. Already, I’ve found community with two others who, when noticing the book I was buying, got excited about Joan Didion. A girl’s girl, it seems.

Seriously don’t know what the fuck is wrong with me. Shit starts getting really really good and I say ok that’s enough for me. Anyways, picking this back up to finish it after *checks watch* a whole month of not reading it.

Started it yesterday but I FOGOT. TO UPDATE MY STATUS!!!!

i did it again. i read for too long and now my heart rate is too high and i feel all fluid.

A relaxing read after Wuthering my Heights. I’m beginning to understand how people can read so many books in a year.

Fuck yeah! New book! I keep going back and forth on how I feel about the writing style. It’s a bit much, but I also love it. I think it works because the author is just genuinely good. If it was a style like this surrounding a bunch of nothing, maybe not so much. I’m excited!

Meant to update it yesterday. I am now on page 263, not 248.

It feels as though the wuthering winds come as a reward for my better pace and diligence.

It takes you like a storm’s wind.

I need to pick up the pace on this one. It’s not meant to be read over a long span.

Didn’t have time to write my chapter summaries today, but I’m always glad to be chipping away at this book.

I have now begun the chapter on page numbers. If the whole of it is anything like its introductory pages, I am in for a treat. Duncan seems partial to page numbers. I look forward to embarking on this adventure with him.

I would read so much faster if I wasn’t such a diligent note taker. 😎

The tension and the electricity and ice continue to build. I’m in the middle of Catherine’s… episode and it is gripping. It draws me in. I can’t tell what’s real and what isn’t; what’s Cathy’s dramatization and what truly ails her, but I don’t think she can tell either. Every line between reality and delusion is blurred, which, of course, pushes her and us only deeper into delusion.

It’s incredibly readable and I feel intrinsically connected to Miss Brontosaurus, though it is beyond me if that is due to psychological influence of my own. I need to figure out what that’s called… feeling connected to someone or something because you WANT to feel connected. I’m Tampa bound and ready to bid adios to this god forsaken Atlanta airport. Deuces, biotches.

Jumping back in after a short hiatus has never been more rewarding. Bless this book for its readability. It makes me feel smart.
