I‘m imagining Ronan sobbing with shame and guilt as he wrote this part, about imploring his sister Dylan to not revive rape allegations against Woody Allen.

I laughed.

Giving me some major anxiety. I want to know what happens, but I’m also sickened to my core.

Man, this is a hard read... I keep thinking I’m used to the writing/oral storytelling style, but I turn a page and am just surprised again by the addition or change in plot 🤔

Wow, I am so enraged and incredulous I had to stop reading and take an angered breath. The compulsion to lie and withhold the truth from their own spouse has me next level confused. Cannot relate. At all.

I like most parts but cannot relate to the modern protagonist. Too much ego and cowardice IMO

Ugh, was hoping for something else!!! But this will do.

So hooked. Really anticipating the end!!

In. To. It. Every part seems to be told in the POV of a nuclear family member, and the voices are all really different. Plot and suspense reminds me of The Dinner by Herman Koch.

Literally equating circumcision to clitoral removal, since “we are all born of two” and need the female or male completely cut away. I clenched my thighs REEEEEAAL HARD.

Never read such an emotionless and bland ambush scene in my life! Plain lazy.

So unimpressed right now. Story went from fast paced to what seems to be just lazy. Very evident that this was written to be a script first and a book second.

Oh my god this is the worst illustration yet!! The main focus, a general on his steed is more than half obscured by the binding of the book! It looks awful! The description written also doesn’t match the illustration. Where is the TLC?!

I’m almost halfway and like the tone, pace, and overall writing of the story. Not completely original as some of the setting and characters are borrowed from lore on Arthur, the infamous sword, and obviously Merlin. I’m intrigued enough to want to finish the book. Disappointed the main character is blonde, happy that it’s female, expected POC from Miller’s illustrations.

Oh my goodness this is heckin’ exciting. So many things going on at once. But I’m already near the end! I must acquire volume 2!
