Ich ärgere mich schon sehr lange über das kapitalistische Wachstumsverständnis in Kirchen&Gemeinden. Es muss immer mehr sein, besser sein, stärker sein, größer sein. […] Nur eine starke Kirche ist eine gute Kirche. Die Anzahl der Gottesdienstbesucher ist Ausweis davon, wie richtig oder falsch die Entscheidungen und wie gut oder schlecht Kirche und ihre Führung sind.

We've heard Jesus tell us not to be afraid because it's the Father's good pleasure to give us the kingdom.
Receiving God's government as a sheer gift of grace liberates us from the anxious drive to fight for "our rights."
Because we pray, "Thy kingdom come," we don't have to desperately clutch to some mythical past. We can believe in the future. Dread gives way to hope.
