This is excellent so far. I honestly have no idea who the villain is.

Very good thriller so far! Plenty of suspense and threads to follow...

This one is a slog to get through. It's infuriatingly nebulous. Will come back to it another time.

I'm finding it difficult to be invested in any of these characters. They all feel a bit flat and boring.

This book hasn't gripped me yet...but I remain hopeful.

This is one of the goriest novels that I've read of hers, but I am captivated.

The plot is getting very wound up- I suspect the twist at the end will be excellent. There's still a lot of racism, homophobia, transphobia, and sexism throughout, and from the main characters, too. I'm still not pleased with the representation of people of color in this one, but I'm holding out hope.

I know this takes place in a very racist and sexist setting/time, but holy moly some of this is very hard to listen to. As I've said before, Slaughter's work is known for not holding back descriptions of violence not softening terms, but this is wild. I'm not sure I'm comfortable with how she writes the people of color in this book, but it's not over yet so we'll see if that aspect can be redeemed.

This is very interesting so far. Right off the bat I was angry with the choices of the main character, though, but having her admit the stupidity of the choice later on was gratifying, and adds tension as the effects of her choice unfold.

Yep, this is going to be a wild finish; there's already a second surprise twist! Ooooo. It doesn't feel like a forced event, either. I'm very pleased with this author so far, and as long as the ending isn't bungled I will be reading them again.

Things are really heating up now in this book. I thought I had the twist figured out, but I was pleasantly surprised! What's more, I'm only halfway through, so I bet there's at least one more surprise waiting.

This is a very slow burn thriller, which is great. The characters are complex and diverse, and there's a very nice hate-to-love-you romance brewing...

I find that I read these ones slower because I feel like I'm rationing out the joy it brings me. Like I'm saving them for a rainy day; but there's still 30+ novels in the series!

I think I might know who the "bad guy" is in this one already, but hopefully I'll be incorrect! Slaughter can definitely twist a plot to surprising ends...

I have stalled on this one. I mostly read by listening to audiobooks, due to disability of the hands and time constraints, but hopefully I can get back to this one to finish it. I will also add that I find Rule's tone to be almost apologetic and defensive- not of Bundy or his actions, but of her own friendship with him. Very strange.

Hooked already. I really enjoyed 'Pieces of Her,' so I was excited to get my hands on this sequel. We're in the setup of the mystery now, jumping through time, and I'm invested right off the top.

Still amazed at how well Pratchett writes women. These characters are complex and endearing, but still flawed. Simply masterful.

Aaaahh betrayal is afoot! All the set-up is starting to pay off as the tension coils...
