Part 3: It uses harmful language like, oh you aren't a real girl if you don't. And the book also explicitly shows SA which is wild for a book targeted toward the 10-12 age group. I get that the initial goal was to spread LGBTQIA+ positive media to kids, but this isn't the book for it.

Part 2: It's used in a derogatory way by straight characters. I'm a big advocate of, if it doesn't apply to you, don't say it. and even if you are straight or cis, you shouldn't say it if it doesn't apply to you. And the straight characters just fling it around like candy which is frankly disgusting. Also, as much as the author tries to give this a trans positive message, it comes off incredibly harmful.

Part 1: I'm only on page 47 but so far, it's...... problematic. I mean the art style is gorgeous don't get me wrong. And I don't feel like this was the intention, but it feels like a homophobic and transphobic person wrote this. I haven't researched into the author yet, so I don't know their qualifications to say these things, but the d slur is used an unhealthy number of times. And not in the reclaiming way.

Baby steps guys! Baby steps! I just started last night and already I'm just loving the Penelope/Shepard dynamic. I got this as a physical copy from Half Price books and it's a beautiful hardcover special edition. It's in perfect condition and it has this lovely art on the inside of all the characters. One of the illustrations showed all the couples including Agatha with a mystery woman? Very exciting.

Finished it yesterday around 11am. This BOOK! It was such a wild ride, and I appreciated how she talked about all the mental health problems she was going through even though that was probably a struggle to talk about. I think sometimes we can forget that celebrities are real people with emotions sometimes. Fans are so obsessed with their image on a screen or who they portray that they do crazy unspeakable things.

This has been a wild ride so far. Got it 2 days ago and I can't put it down! I have been kind of neglecting Any Way the Wind Blows by accident because I really don't want the series to end. I'm gonna miss Baz and Simon :(
