Interesting story so far. I think I would qualify this as more middle grade or high school rather than young adult. I think it gets put in the latter because of some very minor language (2-3 Fbombs in the first half of the book). I do wish there was more magic? Like more casting. And maybe some additional background on Sun’s specific type of magic ability. Also, what makes a person magic? Is it hereditary or chance

A little slow for the first couple of hours. I’d like to hear more about Sun’s background. Additionally there is a bit of repetitiveness from Rook when describing his grandmother’s magic
