Formulaic and predictable? Absolutely—but still entertaining! Two things turned me off: first, the early chapters’ constant jumps in time made meeting new characters and settings confusing. Second, the book felt more like 50% Sci-Fi, 45% Spy Thriller, and only 5% Historical Fiction, with few symbology puzzles or codes.
