Ugh, I don’t know. I don’t think this one’s for me. Still very Backman coded, but I just can’t connect to any of the characters.

The most unique book I’ve ever read.

“I’m allowed to hate someone else’s dream even if it’s my reality.”

It reminds me of ‘La petite fille qui ne voulait pas grossir’ where Isabelle Caro describes how her mother caused her anorexia and she even tattooed her freckles to appear as a little girl for her mother. Crazy and I already understand the title of the book.

“But more than anything else, humans have historically proved to be in-need-of-therapy animals.”

I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to put a book down after 2 pages. What in the Normal People is this?

It feels like reading Game of Thrones again. I shouldn’t attach to any characters.

I am so hooked.

I’ve just read 4 pages of her defending herself not being racist or transphobic in a chapter about safety. It was so good before this stupid chapter, let’s not ruin it. And there’s so much more to talk about how feminists helped women’s safety. Definitely not her crying. Leave it for the afterword!

Never hated a character more and the book still manages to bore me.

Not sure if reading this during my current stage of life is triggering or relatable.
