Currently up to chapter 13 and this book is starting to really impact me. I was recently cut out of a friendship with someone I considered to be my closest friend. Along with that friendship I lost many mutual friends we had made together.

This book is has helping me process the heartbreak and is teaching me to accept what I can’t control and focus my energy on more positive things.

Listening to this on audiobook and liking it so far.

I’ve decided not to finish Homecoming. While Kate Morton’s writing is undeniably beautiful with vivid descriptions and poetic turns of phrase the pacing is just too slow for me. I found it hard to stay invested in the characters or the plot. It’s clear this is a well-crafted book, but it simply wasn’t the right fit for me at this time.

Just when I’m about to decide to DNF this book, a sentence or moment of emotional insight and poetic language pulled me back in just enough to keep me going. It’s a book that rewards perseverance, but im not sure I have the patience to finish.

As I keep reading I’ve realised I’ve read this book out of order and I think I should have read the first one first. Thinking I’ll put this on hold until I get my hands on the first one but enjoying it to far
