Tricked into thinking this would be a fantasy book and it's so not.

Obviously written having read a preview script of the movie with no clue whatsoever what the characters would be like. The vibes are *not* there

No slight bit it's tough to read too many of these in one go

I've developed this weird ability to be able to transport myself back to when these are written and read them as if 45 years of Star Wars stuff never happened. It's quite thrilling.

I like this too much. I have terrible taste.

Perhaps not quite as ideally paced as the first volume but still pitched at a higher level.

It's not clear to me why Luke was shooting at Chewbacca. I say let the wookie win.

Breezing along though not as compelling as the first ... yet.

The first 6 issues are an adaptation of Star Wars and it's ...disappointing. Chaykin seems to be regarded as ana artist but this is rough, ugly and quite thoughtless artwork. I realise that there was no actual movie to base this off of, but that doesn't excuse how half-formed it all is. And the colouring is equally lazy.

There's loads to like about this but I'm finding the storytelling a little stilted. Will probably re-read when I've done with the weekly chapters to see if it holds up

I don't know if this is smart, but it is a whole lot of fun.
