I have never cared as much as I do rn about a Place as a character. Everything else is going so bad for everyone else but the Bridge. The Bridge is forever

When you have a hammer, everything looks like a nail. When you (Bertram Wyatt-Brown) went to Sewanee, every relationship between 2 men looks like a Roman patron-client dynamic

Imagine if you will Cornelius Hickey from the hit TV show The Terror (2018) only even funnier and if he had been in late 1700s Florida. This was Charles Percy.

Love reading this knowing enough history to know when he just described one of his vaguely historical total fantasies thats so clearly fantastical he is putting flora and fauna that wouldn't be in the US for another like century in there

Every time I think of something to say about this I really do think I can never be honest with anyone in my entire life again

We have established that Daath is really important. We have continued establishing this. And that 'All that which seems real is not' in what seems like a Neoplatonist sense

hey why did he just clarify. in case you were wondering. Shelby Foote and Walker Percy weren't in a sexual relationship. It wasn't. But it was emotional and not psychologically average. Hey. What?

He has continued to explain extremely abstract concepts that aren't actually all that complex imo but his wording of them makes them sound way more Intense. and tbf that's his opinion on them but I'm just kinda sitting here like 'yeah yeah the time knife we've all seen it' once I decode what he just said

On one hand what he is saying is very interesting to me even though I'll almost definitely need to read other books about the topic to fully get it. On the other hand a lot of it isn't as complex/edgy as it sounds and well. This man. Knows a lot of words. But concise. may nor be one of them.

Did anyone tell him when he's writing a dystopian future for social commentary he should show people saying stuff and doing stuff instead of just several pages worth of monologing he may as well already be saying about the 70s and 80s

Definitely has some of the argument methods and a bit of the vibe of Wentz, but of course the topics completely different, and so far it sounds like nothings untrue, his POV/biases are pretty clear. In fact while he has a lot clearly drawing upon Crowley's work he specifies he means some terms differently which is cool.

a lot of the much more involved rituals that I've heard are in many ways forms of code made overly complex to obscure the actual things being done

I misjudged what page I was on last time. Anyways, so far Lucifer (once Attar), Beelzebub (once Ba'al Zebul), and Astaroth (once Astarte and/or Asherah) were all mentioned as the 3 most powerful figures and then there was description of Renaissance magic astrological associations with different times and dates, implying combination of the 2 traditions
