It seems as though Mare is becoming less and less comfortable with staying at the castle. Seeing her able to go back to her home was also confusing because I had thought she was under constant surveillance and even her joining the rebels was misleading because she was with Cal, next in line to the throne and he just let so happen. But overall I'm really excited to see how Mare progresses with the rebels.

Its really sad to see how Mare was forced into this because she was "different". Though she is finally learning how to use her powers and is getting closer to her teacher, Julian, who is basically the only person she can rely on throughout her days she is still on her own. Her relationship to Maven and Cal is also growing so she can maybe rely on them. Especially because they are helping her see her family.

The situation Mare is in is understandably disappointing, but I feel like her emotions are super strong, she is a family person but it makes no sense that she be so angry to be marrying a prince after being so poor she needed to go to a war because she couldn't get a job. My perspective is she work with what she has, which now is that of a princess.

It was interesting to see how quick the change from red blood to a silver blood Mare was forced to go through and even the showcase of the silvers which lead to the uncovering of a red blood being able to use lightning. It's also intriguing how the king and queen so easily changed Mare into a person of power.

So far this book is very interesting. The problems that mare has are snowballing and its fun to read and find out how she gets through her problems. Though its only the beginning the hierarchy of the two silver and red class also makes me wonder what will happen as the name of the book is the red queen.

So far I am confused about this book. She talks about Travis Becker but does not explain how she gets to the points where she is with him. I'm not sure about this book and I'm a little lost. There is also when she talks about her mother and the lingering feelings she has which I understand.

Whilst reading these final parts of the book I realize how difficult it is for people to get to the USA. It's so terrifying to think Javier, who is just 10 or 11 years old is having to go through walking through a desert for days nonstop just so he can be with his family. So being able to get to the end and finally make it to the US safe made this book that much more interesting and realistic for this story.

Reading this chapter I realized that I would not be able to preserver through all the things that happen to Javier and his pretend family. They walk endless hours and get caught by some man after only wanting water. Now they have to suffer through getting caught and talking to officers again not sure if at this point they will successfully make it this second trip.

Javier is stuck in cages which readers can picture to be the camps as they are well known. Patricia and the kids are separated from Chino and the four from the group because of them getting deported. They can get a second try at getting to LA USA together. There is a lot of stress on Javier because hes just a little kid and he has his fake family but he cry's that he wants his real one to feel safe and secure again.

Up to this part Javier got to LA USA but not through Mero Meros way. They get caught and now we don't know where they are taking Javier and the pretend family. One can assume that its nowhere good though. We also see how difficult this part, or the walking was to the group for them to get all the way to LA USA.

Javier is three days away from finally getting to what they cal LA USA. Readers learn that he is very scared and nervous because he keeps on making mistakes, almost getting caught by Mexicans. He was not allowed to talk to his parents when everyone else was which was not helpful to his nerves either. We also learn that if they get caught, since its already the second time they needed to pay that they have no options.

The reader learns who Vanessa and Catty are and how they both have these special powers but no idea why. Catty is more laid back and uses her powers whenever but Vanessa seems to be scared of their powers.

Javier is finally getting to cross the border but plans have changed and now he is stressed out because he doesn't know the way that they have to go now. They had spent a lot of time in a motel and an apartment creating a strong bond in the group because they had no other things to do but talk to each other and watch TV.

At this point Javier is finally in Mexico and he has become apart of a fake family with Patricia and Carla. Javier is put through more scary events when at the border it is found out that he is not mexican

Up to this part the group has gotten to Mexico and the coyotes are very strict on what they need to get done. Javier, during the boat ride is very reflective and scared of what is going to happen on the boat. Everyone is very nice to Javier from the group so that does help him, especially Patricia.

Chepito is finally left on his own when his grandfather can no longer travel with him. Chepito struggles to feel safe or even talk to the other adults. Since he doesn't have his grandpa with him anymore and the plan to get to la USA has changed readers sympathize with his stressful and scary journey.

Javier finally gets the date that he gets to go to LA to be with his parents again. For preparing he is telling his teachers that he's going to be gone for a week, and his friends as well. No one knows he's finally going to America.

Solito is talking about he wants to take a "trip" to meet him mom and dad but he takes the reader through his problems trying to do so.

Lara Jean is taking us on her emotional ride with her sister leaving for college and her finding out that her sisters boyfriend, Josh is not in the picture anymore because Margret broke up with him
