I learned about the governments in different countries and how they rule. This helped me better understand my book because the main character is dealing with a corrupt government.

In Jun's letter he writes, "...people did not seem to be as miserable as I have been led to believe they are" (Ribay 88). This reminds me of "The Danger of a Single Story" and how Jun was taught to believe certain things about the Philippines.
