This is pissing me off so bad oh my god 😭

The description is different from when actually reading the book. So far, I'm reading about an immigrant in New York with OCD, hoarding and a creep/pedophile. The "house" burned down very early so I don't get the premise anymore??????

I need to stop getting large print editions at the library. I can't finish this last portion lol, it's not dragging but 540 pages for a 300 page book normally. Goddddd. I need to get the normal edition

The cover made me get this book. The physical copy is beautiful. But the story is not and I'm very disappointed. I can't get past the family complaining about their misery. 130 pages of just bs. It doesn't focus on the mystery of the disowned aunt and the manor. It keeps the focus on the miserable family members with the occasional story from Augusta.

I remember why I lost interest the first time. Random romance that does not make sense. The plot is losing me. First, no one was supposed to know about the strain and it was only supposed to be between the three of them. Now the court knows about it? Did we skip a few chapters????
