I am in awe of how the writing style expands the story. So impressive

I finally dropped tears. The American, especially the black American, more specifically the civil rights activist is no longer a human to the FBI nor powers that be to push their agenda when in jail or under surveillance. This chapter, ch 9, may be the deepest and rawest example encompassing the whole message of Assata shakurs book.

The most gut wrenching scenes I’ve read. The idea of someone going into a coma. when you least expect it, they aren’t dead but expected to die. How can you grieve. when they are still here. Just a really beautiful loving scene as she gets into the bed with her passing aunt. (Very different from Song of Solomon lol)

what a beautiful way to end part 1. never really heard Lena speak but the way this story dives in and out of perspectives so effortlessly and the pace at which you have to take in Toni’s writing makes you appreciate the art of poetry and writing as a whole. so many different perspectives.

a very interesting debate. but where he was wrong is that they are doing it for something and it is to gain revenge. that’s all. also his methods are modern day gang mindsets and values just turned towards racism. this book is very interestingly knowledgeable.

Toni Morrison knows so much. Her personal knowledge and experience comes to life in this fictional book. I’m learning about things I never knew could happen or did.

Elizabeth makes herself seem so much different than the Bingley sisters , but they way her and her family treat charlotte after the news of her marriage is actually disgusting. Put the fries in the bag. But I honestly do see the way society was back then for women and even men in general. you could either be one way or another. Rich or poor. Married or unsuitable. But even if you marry,if you marry “wrong” u lose
