Good bedtime kindle crime cozy read (this is a very important genre in my life!) thus far.

A clear sign that I'm overwhelmed at work is that I only read cozy(ish) British crime. Rather like this one.

After two chilling SF(ish ) books that hit way too close to home in terms of their limited faith in humanity, I need some Pratchett to lift my spirits!

Utilitarian mind viruses, tech bros and existential dread: this feels like analogue doom-scrolling. Except that I'm focused enough to read 350 pages in 24h. And except that I'm greatly enjoying myself in spite of the dread instead of the other way around. Pretty sure I'll inhale the rest of this book instead of going to sleep tonight!

Two pages in, and Pratchet has already hit the sweet spot of my rebellious inner teenager who had had all they could take of enforced church attendance: "A key to the understanding of all religion is that a god's idea of amusement is Snakes and Ladders with greased rungs." Clearly, this is perfect thesis survival literature for me!
