really interesting premise & the devil is nicknamed Aloha

Starting this book at 2 am after putting it off for years. Grief is such a hard feeling (all consuming physical and emotional sensation) to describe; if anyone can put it into words it’s probably Fredrik Backman.

struggling bc I enjoy the story/plot but something about the format/narrator are NOT working for me

I have mixed feelings but Im too far into the series to stop now (curse the sunk cost fallacy)

the subtleties of Pip and Ravi relationship, I love them sooo much. the way he just KNOWS her and SUPPORTS her in everything she does

took me a sec to get used to the narrator but now I’m IN

i have to give myself a pep talk every time i start a new chapter

new levels of yearning unlocked

this is going to hurt

I’m not going to talk about how MUCH this book makes me FEEL but instead, the authors use of literary devices is impeccable.

The juxtaposition between characters and the motifs woven throughout the story. The simplification of the themes in a way that feels REAL and notwatered down? I want to shake his hand and thank him (and also beg that he gives Benji the happy ending he deserves).

I fear its only going to get worse from here

this book makes me sob violently, i love it so much

I want so bad to be hopeful that everything is going to work out and its looking up for the boys BUT my god there’s a whole other book and I’m so suspicious of new characters

(if anything happens to my favorite characters, I will start looking for AUs and just never finish the book)
