The book has gotten very intense and I really like it. Liona faked her death to dodge the seleni, who want to make her the queen of their city. To reverse the curse, that was put on her as a baby, she is learning to be a magician. "I was hoping for at least a week to learn the rest of the spells" (213). I was shocked when she said this because there was many spells left. I think she will get caught by the Seleni.

So far, I really like this book. Some parts are confusing to me but other than that, I love how the plot moves. From the beginning, you are sent directly into the heart of the city that is slowly losing a war. On page 29, the cities enemy broke into a party, "The dagger stops, pressing into Teodor's neck so that a bead of blood trickles down his skin." I think that next, Liona will find a conspiracy about her city.
