All of the instruction on virtue is fabulous, as I remembered. Now I'm at the instruction on vocations, though, and it's not so fabulous. 🥲 I'd gift the first half of the book to any girlfriend, but can I remove the second half? 😂

After the first page I remarked to my sister that this was a five star book. This has got to be my favorite book now, and I have a hundred and eighty-five pages to go. Read it, read it, READ IT.

Y'all, this is incredible. I've discovered my history niche. I love this biographer. ❤️ You know he's good when it's the first time I've ever *wanted* to buy more of his historical biographies. 😂

I know I'm not that far into it, but this is genuinely such a good book. 🫣(AM I REALLY SAYING THAT ABOUT A HISTORY BOOK??) Yes, yes I am. I'm so invested. 🤍

I don't think this author knows enough about Catholicism to be writing so much about it . . . 😂🫠 kinda a lot of inaccuracies and heresies 💀
Currently intepreting it as being uneducated since Google said the author was private about his religious beliefs. The story itself is very enjoyable as long as you like, yk, don't absorb the heresies 🤡
