"Like a bull sea ion hobbling off the rocks and back into the ocean where he was a force". This simile adds a comparison to the story as Arlo grinds in the gym and runs when he is tired to work toward the beginning of the football season again.

Arlo is trying to lock into lifting again once he has another disagreement with his girlfriend about having to potentially step away from football. Arlo has taken one too many hits in football and has to take a break while his head recovers. He has been taking it badly and now has to prioritize his health over living his dream and playing football.

The hits are adding up,
they are getting to his head.
Arlo needs to quit
and enjoy his life instead.

Arlo used this word and he tends to shrug off the pain and hurt he is feeling even though there is a big risk in playing football. The hits are adding up and he seems to shrug them off, which is why these words are important. Instead, the words I would use would give off a more serious and meaningful tone.

Arlo has been trying his best for the past week to make sure he does not get on anyone else's bad side. At the moment, Arlo's mom, girlfriend, and his best friend are all mad at him. I am interested in what Arlo will do to make up to them.

Currently in my book, Arlo and his girlfriend Sandy are going through an argument. It got ten times worse when Arlo grabbed Sandy's arm because he was mad and she has not answered his texts or calls since. Arlo then went to her house while calling her a bunch and she said her dad had threatened to call the cops. Things are not looking too good for Arlo and I suspect this will start to affect his play in football.

I would compare my character Arlo to spaghetti or a sloppy joe because they are both as messy as Arlo's life is right now. He is going through an argument with his girlfriend and his mom at the moment, and life just seems like a big mess right now.

I think my protagonist could relate to the When People Ask Me How I'm Doing poem because he may feel that he has to mask his feelings from other people. For example, Arlo likes to always say he is alright whenever he takes a big hit in football, however, he is not really alright and these hits are taking a toll on him. So he relates to having to hide how he is really feeling to keep things to himself.

One word that I found interesting in a way was incriminating. The context behind this word was Arlo talking to his mother about the newspaper and his plays in football. Arlo's mom was pointing out the words they were saying about him and he called it incriminating. This was interesting word usage as he was talking about his mom, and it showed how Arlo felt about his mom talking about the dangers of football.

A lesson I have learned from my book is that you should be open to listening to what others have to say instead of just ignoring them. Arlo's brother Lloyd likes to ignore what his parents say, which has led him down the wrong path in life. The same thing happened with Arlo except with the hits he is taking as he ignores his mother's warning to be careful while playing. This has led to him taking many hits adding up.

I do believe that my main character Arlo believes in the American dream because he has dreams to make it as a football player into the NFL player. So he would care about the American dream as he has a dream of his own, and he intends to do that by working hard every day, currently in his junior season of high school.

I feel like Arlo would not exactly celebrate the holidays and instead be by himself and go to the gym. He likes to enjoy peace and quiet and there was a part of the book when his coach told him to go home and enjoy the holidays instead of lifting on Thanksgiving. Otherwise, the tradition Arlo partakes in is playing football on Thanksgiving or the day before with his family and girlfriend watching.

I feel that Arlo is not really a rebel as much as his brother Lloyd is. Arlo tries his best to please others including his parents while Lloyd seems not to care too much. Lloyd does not seem bothered by disappointing people and his plan to find something to do with his life did not pan out because he did not care enough to stick with it. So Lloyd is more of a rebel to society than Arlo is because of his lack of will.

Currently in my book Arlo is getting ready for the football season by running during the offseason with his girlfriend Sandy. Sandy has also invited Arlo to join her and her family in their annual trip to Nantucket so Arlo is looking forward to that.

A theme that is coming through strongly in my book is free will. With Arlo's older brother Llyod breaking the holiday tradition of going to Church with his family on Christmas, he showed how he has free will to do what he wants. The way that Lloyd does not listen to his family for the most part, he exercises his free will and does not join them for family events.

Currently, in my book, Arlo is just getting done with the football season which means he and Sandy are now on speaking terms again. They were taking a break for the football season because Sandy was not comfortable with Arlo playing football and the aggressiveness of it all so they chose to take a break until the season was over. So now it is December and things are going well for both Arlo and Sandy.

Arlo and his girlfriend Sandy are currently taking a break, so I believe that the memories he would have would be ones where he and Sandy are together and happy. Where Sandy is excited to watch his football games and not too concerned about him getting hurt, which is why she proposes a break until the football season is over. Even the conversation about the break could make Arlo think back to those moments together.

I believe Arlo is convinced being good at football will make him successful. In his freshman season, his coach told him that he should try to get bigger during the offseason and Arlo did just that to come back in his sophomore year and make the varsity team. I do not agree that Arlo being a star football player would make him successful if the people he cares about do not support his football career.

There is a serious mood and tone going on in my book as Arlo is becoming a better football player on his varsity football team and his brother is trying to find his way. From the scene I just read, Arlo is talking to his girlfriend, and she is telling him to take things less seriously. I would have the actors standing beside each other with Arlo's arm around her, with serious and listening features on their faces.

If I were staging the current scene in my book, I would have the actor playing Arlo's dad put the actor playing Arlo's brother in a headlock with the scene on a staircase. Then I would have an actress portraying Arlo's mother with two handfuls of her hair in her hand yelling at them. Lastly, I would have the actor playing Arlo stand there looking confused and debating whether to break the fight up or run away.

From the scene I just read, I can almost feel Arlo's relief as he read that he made his school's varsity team. He was happy that all his offseason work including the long and hard summer days had worked out for him. It is the start of his sophomore year and he is looking forward to it.

The summer is winding down and preseason football workouts are going to start up soon again Arlo is happy about where he is at in life and that his girlfriend came back from her summer trip. His brother is soon going to go into the army and both Arlo and his brother have been training all summer long for this point. I am interested to see what team Arlo makes and his relationship with his brother once he goes away.

I am happy for Lloyd, I really am. He is finally putting his life back on track and I had a great deal to do with it. However, the thought of being able to see Sandy again is clouding the pride I have in Lloyd. I can not wait to see Sandy again.

Arlo is training with his brother and they just ran in the hot weather to the park. Arlo's brother is face down in the grass near a bench in the park so I would have them both wearing black shorts and a white, sweat-soaked t-shirt. They will be huffing and puffing because they are tired with sweat on their faces.
