It's very informal, letting us look through Helen's eyes; she used a lot of first-person pronouns since this is a first-person story. I think it helps us understand her thoughts and feelings about everything and makes the read a lot more riveting

Yes, its an autobiography where shes writing about a specific part of her life, so I feel like shes qualified to speak on it.

Learning about who our eyewitness will be talking about really hooked me. Knowing who they are and what crimes they committed shows just how everything works.

I mean, yeah, if they are facing oppression due to the fact that their lives are short, then you could consider them a minority. Of course, there shouldn't be laws against them, but if their lives are shorter than they will be considered for fewer chances than people who can commit. But still, it's kinda not cool, so if they want to protest, then they can. They have every reason to.

He refused to open it until he knew what it was. When he found out his string was short, he started to contemplate what to do with what remained of his life. Despite being obviously worried and upset, he keeps a stoic face about everything, which isn't similar to most characters who are being very emotional.

No, I don't, I believe in luck but not miracles, you can get extremely lucky, but there is no such thing as a divine intervention to help people. Everything happens in life from time, change, or pure dumb luck, and miracles don't fit into any of that

I would not test that string, even if my death is predetermined down to the last millisecond; I am not doing anything risky. You know what happens when you survive dangerous things: you usually end up injured. They take injured people to the hospital, and then they take care of you and charge you medical bills. I am not going broke because I want to try and sky dive without a parachute. I like my money too much.

The main character is an extroverted rebel. He doesn't fit into the mold being poor, and cruel, but he does not keep his head low. Hes always going into other people's business and is always talking even if it is just to himself.

Hes returned to the building of the murder, and tries to rent the room. The workers are confused and try to take him to the bureau.

A theme shown in the book is how economics affects people and the world. The entire story is about a man suffering with extreme poverty and what he did to end it. We can see how the rich look down on the poor and how easy there life is, while the poor have to cling onto anything to earn money(even murder).

Raskonoliv is bedridden listening to his doctor and a police man discuss the murder he committed, and how they already have the culprit in custody.
