The students get questioned and asked many weird but reasonable questions. They are starting to think that Addy took the epipens away to help murder Simon's death. They are struggling to find out who did what and at what times.

Rusty seems like a troubled kid and he doesn't get along with too many people either. He has anger issues but he tries his best to calm down whenever he gets mad. Rusty has quite a few friends in his "gang" but they don't really seem to get along all the time.

Simon gets an allergic reaction and we can't tell if he will be okay or not. The four students in detention were very confused on what had happened but they came up with the conclusion that it is possible that he had a delayed allergic reaction from his lunch that day.

Martin is fighting to try to get in a college in America but it really isn't going well. He is starting to get discouraged which is making us see a different side of him that we haven't seen before. I wonder how much they make as a teacher at the school Martin works at in Africa.

Based off of Caitlin's attitude to her boyfriend, we can tell that she is finally getting out of her people pleasing phase which is amazing for her mentality and her future. If she continued to keep up this attitude, she probably wouldn't be able to pass her tests since she would feel bad for not being with Damon.

America had the 9/11 incident and Caitlin and Martin’s first reactions were to send a letter to each other. The way they both had thought of each other first in such a stressful situation demonstrates that their bond is really important just like the two are to each other.

Martins mother fell I'll and he worried that she would die. Based off his dialogue and thoughts, we can infer that he values his mom more than really anything. Along with that is seems like his mother puts Martin before her which I think really shows her love for her children and her determination to help her kids to succeed with their lives.

Caitlin talks about how her new boyfriend has been abusing the use of drugs and she didn't know whether she should do them or not. Eventually she gave in which I think adds to the type of person she is. She seems to be a people pleaser and she also seems the type to give into peer pressure which could really affect the future for her.

Martin heads to a very rich school to do his A-levels. He is told that he can't join since there are multiple people who want to get in and their place is very full but he fights and fights and he is told that if he gives money he can get in. I think this shows a lot about his dedication and determination to get what he needs to be successful.

Cait decides that she wants to send more items and objects to Martin to help. She also decided to sneak money into the envelope so Martin could have it. This action shows that she would risk getting in trouble for Martin which I think symbolizes their friendship. Along with that, it also shows that she puts others before herself which could be a problem in future scenarios.

Martin worries that he won't be able to repay Cait's family for everything they have done for him and his own family. Since he shows that kind of worry I think it adds to how he treats others. He seems to not like taking things from people without him being able to do something for them back.

Cait shared stories with the reader about past experiences she had with people in poverty. Based off her stories, we can tell that she is a very kind hearted person and she seems to want to be as helpful as she can be to everyone which really shows what kind of person she is.

Caitlin sent the huge box of materials to Martin and she also sent him money. Martin and his family were so grateful for everything and they realized how amazing Caitlin's family was. As the book goes on, we can tell that the two are really close and they call each other siblings. I predict that they will get to meet each other soon.

Martin writes a letter explaining how he needs help from Caitlin. Caitlin was very proud of him since he had never asked for help so directly like he had. This is important because Martin is building trust within the friendship which is very important for the future.

Martin went to a rich part in Africa which helped him realize how Caitlin's life is most likely like. This is important because it helps connections between the two grow which improves their friendship. As we progress through the story, we can tell that they are definitely growing together and learning through out their letters being sent to one another.

Caitlin sends money over to Martin which gets Martin food and back into school. This action of hers makes her realize how different their lives are and how fortunate she really is. This makes me think about how life would be in Martins shoes.

Martin starts to lose a ton of money and he gets kicked out of school. Since he has no money he can’t send any more letters back to Caitlin. Since Cait isn’t getting any letters, she starts to worry about if he is okay and safe. Martins dedication to get money to get back in school and send a letter back to Cait shows how much he cares about those things and the importance they have to him.

There was an attack on Africa and Cait was scared for Marin. She couldn't understand why someone would put that kind of violence on others which I think really shows what kind of person she is. It shows how vulnerable and caring she is for others that are going through problems.

Martin worked hard to get earrings for Caitlin. That shows the dedication he has for their friendship. Cait also was worried about Martin since he hadn't replied for a while. This also shows that they cared for each other without even meeting before.

Caitlin sent Martin a US dollar and Martin and his family were so excited about it since they could finally have good food for the first time in a while. It is amazing to see their friendship build and see them get closer as time goes on.

Caitlin and Martin sent each other photos of themselves and they both hung them up somewhere so they could see them. I think they are getting a lot closer and I can tell they will be good friends in the future. They already seem to get along quite well and they seem quite interested in learning about each other.

We learned more about Martin and what it is like in Zimbabwe and we learned that he is a generally sweet person and he seems to just want to learn what it is like in America. I can tell they are going to get along quite well.

Caitlin started to do her pen pal with a someone from Zimbabwe. Based off the information we gained, Caitlin seems to be quiet but sweet. I wonder how she will react when she gets a new letter back.

Gabe had told the story about when he experienced the bomb that killed Floyd which made Summer feel nervous and empathetic. She hopes that he would remember her. I predict that at the end he will end up remembering her.

Summer's mother finally came back home and Summer was extremely happy to see her. Summer and her mom also found Gabe and they found out where he was which made Summer nervous but excited to see him.

Summer feels better after she called her mother and talked to her about Gabe. She is starting to go on a hunt to find out if Gabe is still alive and well. I predict that she will find him eventually.

Summer starts to have dreams where she is Gabe and she starts to see how his life truly was. She sees how he felt and how he enjoyed hanging out with her brother and Wren which was happy and calm. As Summer calls her mom she realizes how much better she looks and how much the move has affected her in a good and bad way.

Summer thinks about how the whole thing with Gabe is a sign that she needs to go meet him and find him but she isn't totally sure he is alive and real. She feels upset when she realizes she may not see him again and it really affects her and Bee.

Summer is starting to feel angry and annoyed again. Milo was the cause of it but he didn't mean to be. Summer is seemingly jealous about her sister and Milo but she doesn't know how to feel.

Summer is doing really well and she is starting to act like herself again. She is starting to hang out more with Becky and she found out that she actually likes her a bit and she enjoys being with her. Summer has been happy but still a bit scared of things as usual. I predict that Gabe died along with Floyd and they were actually friends.
