This is one of the best stories I have read in MONTHS.

Jamil & Rohan have a connection neither can fully understand, and their fates are such that they should be doomed from the start.

The fated mates element of this story is so...engrossing? You can FEEL their love and yearning for one another through the pages, but the political intrigue coupled with angst is everything.

Whew. Femdom is decidedly not my jam to begin with, but I really did not like the lack of safety/boundaries that the MMC was given and REALLY disliked honestly the entire vibe of the FMC. Just wasn't for me!

I will say that I think, if the roles were reversed and a MMC put these constraints on the FMC, with this same dynamic, it would be not at all okay. So...what does that say about the premise then?

Violet absolutely, fucking, SUCKS in this book. It's absolutely absurd that a single person allows her to behave like a brain dead toddler. There is literally no world in which I would ever allow someone to speak to me, or about me, or my partner, or my SIBLING the way she seems to think it's ok to speak.

If she's gonna behave like this, the author should have at least given her some kind of communication disorder

MMC is a real asshole and idk why this is a love story????
