I haven't read a fantasy novel in a while. Still getting used to the pacing

After the scene where Bobby dies, my chest felt so heavy, like a whole bunch of stones were weighing it down. I had to pause for some time to process it all....

I absolutely hate how Beth is cheating on Frank. No cheating is accepted, and I understand that she loves Gabriel, but she should end things with Frank first. No way it's been four days only...

Ummmm, so I don't think Gabriel actually cheated on Beth back then. The diary entry she read said Gabriel had to sneak Louisa out, but never specified that he did anything intimate with her. But he also didn't deny it when Beth confronted him, so idk. But I'm hoping he didn't cheat. In the present time, I hope Beth doesn't cheat on Frank (but she probably will...)

I did think Scott might be the person who killed Ryan Stevens, and I was correct. But I did NOT expect Alejandro to be working for Bob!!! Omg

Ooh, the case from the first book is being reopened. Maybe someone will get revenge on Sarah

Hopefully the loose ends from book 1 will be answered and resolved here.

Sooo it got a bit boring near the middle, so I kinda skimmed the pages ahead and (of course) read a few spoilers... Oops. I don't know if I'll keep reading from here. I might just skip ahead.

There's been a lot of.... Intensely romantic scenes, though just mentions of them here and there, but still not what I had expected from a mystery thriller. They found Kelly's (the mistress') body... And Sarah (Adam's wife) is gonna be his lawyer... Talk about messy 😬
