Idk if it’s the autism or the book, but things are very easily predictable. I’m not super enjoying the book but finishing it for the sake of my book club

Vince is the only interesting character so far imo 😩

Decided to throw the audio book on while working and I am just having a hard time getting into this one. Giving it more chapters in hopes it picks up.

I know I’m only a chapter in, but it lowkey feels like some AU fanfiction. I’m not quite vibing with it, but since it’s for my book club I’ll give it a decent chance.

Glad I work from home because these last 100 pages have had me CRYING

Took a hiatus from reading because of moving and life, but now that i'm back into it I remember how much I was loving this book! The yearning, AAAHHHH

I’m just barely a quarter of the way through this book and it’s already a five star read. Beautiful writing, engaging characters, interesting and refreshing world and magic system, AND THE YEARNING AAAAAHHH

I haven’t felt this invested in a book based off the first chapter in a long time. I am so read for this book to destroy me

I’m still bored even though things are “happening.” 😩

Dreadfully boring… absolutely nothing I happening and I’m so disappointed with how slow and boring this book is compared to the first.

I’m not vibing with Genevieve as the main character. I’m a stubborn brat myself, but idk. She’s just lowkey annoying 😭😭 the substance that was in the first book is lacking this time around, and I’m just hoping it picks up.

Very enticing read so far and was wanting more of the horror aspect… but just got to what I assume is the “big reveal” and umm… okay interesting path we are going on now.

Things are finally picking up and honestly I don’t understand why this book dragged on so much so far. I have a feeling I know where things are going since it’s very predictable so far.

It only took until well over 300 pages in for things to get mildly interesting and then fall right back off…

Halfway through and it feels like nothing has happened. I genuinely don’t know if I want to keep wasting my time on this book 😩

I truly might DNF this soon. This book has only taken place over the course of a few days and yet it’s like the author is trying to pack in weeks of not months worth of stuff in those few days. Kaelis hates Clara the moment they meet and now ALL OF A SUDDEN he’s telling her all his secrets and blah blah blah. The book has also been incredibly predicable 🫠

We are being introduced to so many “important” characters and getting so many lore dumps about them… Like it’s just too much too fast and the pacing is wild. She’s only been at the school for two days and there’s so much happening??? I want this book to get better 😭
