PROTAGONIST: The protagonist in my book is Maverick Carter. Maverick is 17 years old. Maverick is tough and has a to take the role as the man in the house in his household. Mavericks father went to jail meaning that Maverick has to help his mom pay the bills. Mavericks cousin, Dre says that Maverick is very self sufficient and loyal to his family. As the days go by, Maverick is taking on more responsibilities

GENRE: My booking Genre is rags to riches. In my book, Micheal is a young kid who lives in a bad neighborhood in Memphis Tennessee. Later on, Micheal was taken in by the Thouys, a rich family. The Thouys encourage Micheal to play football, so he does. Micheal was coached up with the help of the Thouys until he goes on to play at Ole Miss. Micheal is later drafted into the NFL to the Baltimore Ravens.

SETTING: My story takes place in Memphis Tennessee. This story takes place from 2000-2005. Micheal Lives with the Touhys in the nicer part of Memphis. Where Micheal grew up was not a nice place. Micheal travels from where he grew up to where he lives now often. Another place that takes a big part in this book is his school. Micheal also travels to and from school daily.

MAKING CONNECTIONS: One thing I can connect to with my book is the fact that Micheal is new to his sport. Micheal plays football and has no knowledge about it. In the text on pg 41 it says, " Micheal is new to sports in general, he has no idea what any of its like. " This shows how Micheal's knowledge on sports is at a minimum. I can relate because I was once new to my sport too.

SUPPORTING CHARACTERS: A minor character In my book is a 16 year old girl named Collins. Collins plays a minor role in my book by helping Micheal make friends and fit in at his new school. " If we are going to live in the same house then we cant be strangers outside of it." (pg161) This proves how Collins takes time out of her day to help guide Micheal at his new school.

MAKING PREDICTIONS: Micheal is currently struggling with his school assignments. He is uneligible to play sports until his grades are improved. The football team is waiting for his grades to improve because of the great impact he will make on the team. I can predict that Micheal will start to realize how much pressure is on him and start to get to work. I think Micheal will do this by seeking help with his work.

INCITING INCEDENT: Micheal's life changed when he was put into a new private school for free. " Because of his size the football coach had wanted him on scholarship. " (pg6) From that moment on Micheal was getting help from the coach. The problem was, he was homeless. A small family, the Tuohys adopted him into the family. Micheals size was so big, he did not know what he was capable of.

SUPPORTING CHARACTERS: Cal is a minor character in my book, Tyrell who helps Tyrell get off the streets. The reason this author included Cal was to guide Tyrell in the right path to help his family. Cal helps Tyrell by advertising Tyrells party's by selling drugs. By doing this Tyrells party's become more popular. Clearly, Cal is a good influence to Tyrell because he helped him off the streets.

ARCHETYPE: My book Is a rags to riches story. In my book, Bronxwood. Tyrell starts off with a mother and father in a great situation. Eventually, Tyrells father gets locked up in jail. Tyrell then feels lost and has no help what so ever. But, Tyrell stays strong knowing that his little brother is counting on him. Eventually Tyrell makes enough money to afford an apartment for his family to get out of their slump.

VISUALIZE: When Tyrells family went to visit Troy, it was Troys first time in a long time seeing his father. On page 134 it says, " When Troy and his foster mother, Ms. Woods, get there, man, the look on Troy face when he see my pops, that shit is for real. " The author chose to make this scene so special because Troy has not seen his own father for a long time.

MAKING CONNECTIONS: In my book, I made a connection with moving furniture. On (pg98) it says, " My mom was sitting on the counter, looking bored. " I can relate to this because whenever my aunt has me help her move furniture, I get very bored. But I think to myself that im getting food after and it makes it all better.

CHARACTERIZATION: Tyrell is a character in my book and he never gives up. I know this because he is always facing challenges, but he surpasses them. For example, on pg 61 it says, " Damn, I lost my girl. I thought she was the one." Later on pg 72 Tyrell says, " Keisha is perfect for me, I don't see why I would ever want Jasmine back. This is a perfect example of Tyrell overcoming obstacles that are thrown at him.

ANTAGONIST: The Antagonist of my book is Tyrell. Tyrell constantly overthinks about his problems and throws himself off track. Tyrell wants to get himself his own place to stay at with his family, but he keeps putting himself offtrack to achieve that. For example, Tyrell is always worrying about his brother that is in foster care. Sometimes he will even stop in the middle of planning a party to call him.
