Okay. I'm finding this tedious. I'm sure it is interesting research...but I'm not finding it terribly interesting to read.

At first I was annoyed: incorrect historical facts pertaining to Charles II of Spain. But this book grew on me. I'm enjoying the rambling style and the historical anecdotes.

The lack of communication between Jay and B bothers me. I can see why he is the way he is - but it still bothers. me.

I don't know that I'm going to be able to finish this one. Watching it unfold is depressing as f*ck. On the one hand, I like the writing and the characters, though it is very slow to unfold. On the other hand, the creep factor of 80's dad is really getting to me. I'm not confident that the women (and girls) in this story will ever have any agency - and that really bothers me.

Not sure I'm going to finish this. The writing is definitely a product of the times, even so I would have expected a more progressive point of view from King in 1991. His views on homosexuality are sadly dated.
