so the smut finally began... therefore, i can no longer read this book while at work, lmao!

i completely love this book so far, but that doesn’t surprise me. the way it captures the possible grotesqueness, horrors, and violence of rural america. and its impacts on children and women; and motherhood, too. *chef’s kiss*

honestly, in heather’s shoes, i’d also want mothman carnally…

gotta say: i cannot stand chris. if he has no haters, i’m dead.

i love the descriptions and use of vocabulary in this book… it’s so immersive! so far, it seems pretty similar to what i remember from the tv miniseries.

i am enjoying this and all, but why is he sorta a humanoid mothman? i came here for some real monsterfucking! (not that they’ve had sex or anything yet, but still!)

i’ve got less than 27 hours to finish this book… i got this (maybe?)

“the old woman’s prayer” was pretty good! i’m not sure i felt completely satisfied by the ending, though.

whoa, i really enjoyed this book!! such a bittersweet ending. i can't fully articulate my thoughts right now, so i'll have to wait a bit before i write a review. hopefully, going to book club will clarify some things for me!!

as much as i'd love to keep reading, my eyes are getting so tired... (it's nearly midnight). i'm really enjoying this book thus far, though. i have no clue what's going to happen next (complimentary).

i'm certainly intrigued by the introduction!

painter: i, too, would likely be unhealthily obsessed with tomie... ★★★

the long dream: not being able to sleep peacefully sounds horrendous... i wouldn't be able to cope with it!! ★★★★

marionette mansion: nooooo, not kinuko!! (i did love the ballerinas, though...) ★★★★

hanging blimp: when the kazuko's dad was like, "look, i know the world is ending, but i gotta go to work," and then immediately died, i was cracking up so bad ★★★★½

used record: wasn’t all that creepy (in my opinion), but i liked the premise! ★★★

shiver: ewwwww! i felt so icky while reading… yuck. it definitely spooked me a bit… ★★★½

fashion model: was i supposed to be laughing? gosh, this story was so absurd. definitely my favorite so far! ★★★★
