How do people adapt themselves to changes or have themselves become the agents of change? Economists have searched for a recipe for the growth of the material world, but they can only give simple advice: "Do something economists are not very good at measuring."

The impossibility of our *saying* the truth, even when we *feel* it, makes us speak as poets, makes us tell the story of our mind’s adventures and verify that they are understood by other adventures, makes us communicate our feelings and see them shared by other feeling beings.

The principle of evil lies in unfaithfulness to oneself. “Know yourself”, the principle of veracity, is at the heart of emancipation experience; it is the privileged relation of each person to the truth, the one that puts him on his path, on his orbit as a seeker. Truth doesn’t bring people together at all. It exists independently from us by itself; it is that which is and not that which is said.

not surprisingly, the west's stance is so arrogant that i can't buy any of its reasoning, but its claim seems valid, so i have to reconstruct the reasoning for myself.

By the will we mean that self-reflection by the reasonable being who knows himself in the act. It is this threshold of rationality, this consciousness of and esteem for the self as a reasonable being acting, that nourishes the movement of the intelligence. The reasonable being is first of all a being who knows his power, who doesn’t lie to himself about it.

By saying “He is more intelligent,” you have simply summed up the ideas that tell the story of the fact. You have given it a *name*, but the name of the fact is not its cause, only, at best, its metaphor.

While conceptual clarity is often a desirable goal, it will make our concept dissolve into nothing. The very "sponginess" of the concept, rather, is connected with its richness and vitality. We should not presume that its vagueness signifies a lack of clarity on our part.
