So far really good! The mother reminds me of Mother Gothel.

This book currently has me in a chokehold. The setup for this is lovely, and I cannot wait to see where it goes. It is a bit more of a simple read, similar to a high school drama movie but in a book. Despite being aimed at younger audiences, the author still writes maturely. The one minor complaint I have is that the MC is a teen when she looks like a young adult.
