I am utterly impressed! The prologue was intense and set the tone.. we skip 15 years and I sort of expected for things to simmer down.., but bi momentum is lost! Absolutely incredible and I have picked some folks to root for and some to dislike.. things are already showing some signs of connection and I’m hoping I am right 🔥

The Children of Gods and Fighting Men was 4 going on 5 stars.. it sneaks up on you.. I keep thinking about the characters and the possible future of them all. Might have to update my review..

If you’re debating on getting into the Gael Song series - take this as a sign to take the leap. The Novellas aren’t to be skipped and well worth the read!

I’m in absolute awe!

Atmospheric and vivid! Fully immersed and ensnared .. I can smell and almost taste the ink on these pages ! I’m predicting a 5 star read!

But I am still waiting to find out what the faeries got going on.. and we only have 30% left.

I truly like Phee and I am rooting for her. I am an auntie, so I feel for Auntie Cleo - I wonder what her true story is.

… tension! All the angst… but I am needing it to kick up some and give some more folklore or magic.

Not on open sea! The monsters, brilliant concept. I hope we get a little more insight in the magic system

I’m only 78 pages in and this is already an amazing read!

I see where this is going… but I am hoping for some deeper dive into the deities and the magic. The politics are known and I get the why and who and the how.. I would like some insight on the magic.

Interesting magic system and I like the FMC’s.. I’m interested and intrigued with the surroundings and hope to learn more about the gods.

idk how i feel about this one... the whole comparison of Black folk to colonizers.. uhm, nah...

I enjoy the setting, the concepts of Demons .. them being “people” and the view of the teacher in this setting. Also, with her being underestimated and undervalued.. but highly educated..

Plot twist within the first 50 pages and we have met our main or key players 🔥 I am fully immersed and on to part two.. I have a sneaking suspicion about the two women she killed 👀

Oddly enough the atmosphere is heavy, but you can feel some warmth at the same time. The characters feel “safe”.
