Imo it got really unbearable and cheesy in a bad way at the part Dory, Sol, Toto, and the Intern all got kidnapped. The story is finally moving along, and this is exactly what I wanted. But there was so little build up to this moment, it just feels so weird and out of place.

It’s getting so much worse. I’m almost two-thirds of the way done with this book and so far it feels like hardly anything meaningful is happening. I’m truly bored to death. Chapter 9 was just hideous in its entirety. There were some parts that did genuinely get a chuckle out of me, but they’re not enough to make me forget about how nothing important is happening.

I’ve been reading for hours and it feels like very few things of importance happened. I can’t say I’m enjoying this because of that fact.

There’s a bit left to be desired as far as plot goes but it’s getting a bit better. The characters are shallow and in serious need of fleshing out. Particularly the main character. In my opinion she just isn’t likable, and lacking anything that resembles a personality a real human would have.
I do like romance but this just isn’t one I enjoy a lot. But I feel compelled to continue.

It's alright. I don't have any strong thoughts on anything that's happened just yet. It's surprisingly not as uninteresting as I expected.

I'm definitely excited to read this book! At first, I was a little confused by the English, but I'm getting used to it. I'm very fascinated by philosophical topics. As far as the few pages I've read tonight, I'm very much in need of some different perspectives on the afterlife, death, and how to live life in justice and holiness.

Fire and Ice was good. It was very thoughtful and touching.

Abasement by Brian Blanchfield was okay. I found it difficult to understand why Brian was trespassing in the home he planned to purchase in the first place. The confusion surrounding this doesn't help when he points out that queer people aren't legally protected from discrimination when purchasing a home. The only thing I liked was that he started every paragraph with "I had the right to say nothing at all."
