“compiling this delight manifesto meant connecting studies that each focus on just one piece of delight.”

even tho i’m suffering the one piece is real

“no amount of hustle can shield you from grief and loneliness, or reduce their power to injure your heart. but moments of delight can. even if only briefly.”

i met a woman today while reading and we spoke for 4hrs. that’s my delightful moment for today

first chapter was great.

what a book to start while in a depressive slump, on a trip with my mother in tucson, az, in a casino hotel.

i’ve been instinctively reading it with dr. rachel’s scottish accent, which makes the pages fly by, despite the density of some of the topics, as her voice is so endearing.

first read about the temporoparietal junction (TPJ) brain region on this page and i know this has to be an underdeveloped part of an autistic brain, as dr. rachel talked about its “social prowess”. she continued on to say, “this structure is a master of etiquette, helping you navigate the complex world of social interactions”.
