“But I never took my eye off him. That craven part of me was expecting to be jumped, like the first unwitting victim in one of those maniac-on-the-loose movies that always seem to have numbers in their titles”
Oh Stephen, the way you are with words…

The thrill I got from the previous story vanished I would have preferred the psychological test to be finessed

Just when I was thinking nothing was happening. Touché.

All the finale’s of the little cases grandpa solves are all just a bit lackluster. Case three about the vanishing body had me thinking “how does he even come to this conclusion” but we got an answer for that

The second case is very Sherlock Holmes-esque. I loved how Grandpa came to the conclusion of what happened. And once again with the book recs! I’ve added six mystery books so far and I have 2/3rd of the book to go! But I’m not complaining because I love murder mysteries.

I love the amount of research the author has put into LBD and Alzheimers, yet portrays it in a very empathetic manner. I’ve just finished the first story, and it was a great introduction to Grandpa, and made me add several mystery novels into my tbr!

It’s taken until now for all our MCs to meet, but I’ve really enjoyed learning about each of them by peeping into glimpses of their lives. This makes me excited for the latter half!

The opening quote by Plato had me googling the meaning of it, and then comparing it to Lord Buddha’s words about letting go of worldly pleasures. Trust a fantasy book to drag my religious knowledge after a decade 🤭

Something about the way these are two not communicating and hatefully flirting, instead of properly processing grief is just throwing me off.

Time lines are confusing me a bit. Here we see Rhys being dragged to bowling after the sister passing away, which happened in Wild love. The recording studio didn’t exist then. In Wild eyes, we hear about the passing of the sister and about the marriage. Skylar was there then, and that doesn’t make any sense since she came to record? And the studio wasn’t done then?
